SOFT HIKING PROGRAM OPTION I

WATER FALL PANORAMA AND RICE FIELD HIKING

This easy half-day walk explores the foot hills of spectacular Rinjani volcano in lombok’s northern district of bayan. Starting near the border of Gunung Runjani National Park, your route follow old pathways amongst shady bamboo groves and village gardens before entering a wide, open landscape of rice terraces and palms. Following a winding irrigation channel you reach the lush rainforest of the famous sindang gila waterfall reserve. The local people believe that a refreshing bath traditional houses along the way.

Along the way, discover tropical plants as your guide explains how the local people make practical use of them. You came across the cheeky long tailed monkeys and, with a bit of luck, may even spot the rare ebony leaf monkey. Passing small hamlets where age-old traditions are practiced, you will gain insight

Make sure you bring your cammera-the views are simly spectacular! On a clear day you may even cacth glimpse of bali’s famous Gunung Agung volcano rising high above the blue waters
 

SOFT HIKING PROGRAM OPTION II

SEMBALUN LAWANG AND BUMBUNG VILLAGE HIKING

Located in the foothills on the spectacular volcano Mt. Rinjani at 3726 m it is the second highest volcano in Indonesia and the sacred mountain of the Sasak people. Sembalun Bumbung a gateway to Gunung Rinjani National park. Most of the communities are farmers who are mixture of the indigenous people and new comers from other areas of Lombok.

Our walk stars in the fields where the community’s system of farming can be seen. We follow terraces of the fields and stop for while to talk to the farmers. The walk then leads to the hill where you can gain a beautiful view go the rice feels in the valley. Further you can enjoy amazing views of tropical forest, neighboring villages and the sea. Descending from the hill you will see bamboo gardens and along the way you will also see coffee trees

Formerly Sembalun was know as coffee producer and then the community changed to garlic growling because it helped increase their income especially during the garlic around 1992.

Along the way your guide will explain what farmers are plaiting such as garlic, onion, carrot, potatoes etc. next is the tradition village, Desa Beleq, which was the original village of Sembalun Lawang.

The buildings are replicas of those that many years ago. The village always consisted of seven house and never more than that so that the following generations west the lofty summit of Mt. Rinjani. This natural and cultural diversity maces the walk an unforgettable part of your Lombok experience

Senaru Village, Rice Terraces And Water Fall

Where rainforest and rice terraces meet, where wild nature blend with local Sasak culture… For unique scenic experience.

Organized and guided by women of the Senaru communities, the is easy one hour walk through one of Lombok’s most spectacular nature settings. Leave the magic world of our beautiful rain rest reserve.

Here the sounds of tropical forest birds soon give way to the thunder of the towering Sindang Gila Waterfalls. The brave may even venture for an exhilarating bath behind the white water curtain – the local people believe this to be a cure disease.

Altemmatively, just relax in the coo; shade of a rain forest gain and take in the magic scenery around you. Maybe the long tailed monkey will entertain you with its cheekiness.

From the waterfall, your guided walk continues along the slopes of Mount Rinjani to several beautiful viewpoints high the river. As you leave the lush green rainforest behind, radically terraced rice fields seem to stretch forever towards the blue waters of the Flores sea.

To the south towers the sharp volcanic peak of Lombok’s sacred Gunung Rinjani. Take time to enjoy this fantastic landscape or watch the local village scene pass by.

SOFT HIKING OPTION IV
5 hours

A five hour walk exploring the lombok countryside through the villages, rice fileds, jungles and rivers. This tour invites you to experience the real life of the local people in their daily activities and also partake in their friendships. Talking or relating to them gives you life-long memories. View the many varieties of flora and fauna on this scenic and educated hike. Included at the end of the hike is a picnic lunch, served by your choice in the forest reserve or the reservoir dam.
